There are four engine choices for the MTEEA Supermileage competition stock class. (The Model 550(127cc) Jr 206, Model 9, and the 2.4 Vanguard). The base models and any other Briggs and Stratton engines under 250cc are eligible in the Modified Urban and E-85 classes.
The Jr 206 engine is the current and future base model cleared for use in the Stock, Modified, and E-85 classes. Briggs has specified a muffler to use the engine in the Stock class. This exhaust is supplied with the motor when purchased through MTEEA. It is permitted to mount the starter on the flywheel in the stock class. We are allowing the starters to be mounted in the standard position for safety reasons.
The “Model 9” (3.5 hp L-head engine) are in scarce supply. The model 50032 is no longer available on the new market. There may be a few of these left in someone’s engine supply. These are no longer being produced by Briggs and Stratton.
